KILLER 7

Strengths: can choose and switch on the fly from 6 characters

Weakness: story can get really bizarre, strange art style

KILLER 7 is a first person rail shooter for the Gamecube. It is a very strange and surreal game to say the least and has one of the most complex and thought provoking story lines since Metal Gear Solid. The gist of the plot is that there is a new terrorist group called Heaven Smile that is causing great chaos. Their soldiers are crazy laughing lunatics who love to blow themselves up. U can kill...

Something different that may not be for everyone

Strengths: Storyline

Weakness: Non Traditional Control

Killer 7 is a cel-shaded adventure game that will have you taking control of 7 different assassins that will have to put an end to a terrorist organization and while it does have many redeeming quailties that make it a good game it also strays away from more traditional controls which may turn away some gamers from Killer 7. The gameplay consist of 3 different types of play, 3rd person view in...

Killer 7 (resubmitted review from October '07)

Strengths: Unique style/presentation not often seen in video games.

Weakness: The story is all over the place.

Have you ever played a game and subsequently felt like you must be tripping on some kind of drug? That is probably the best way I can sum up Killer 7. The game's story revolves around a battle between the 'Killer 7' and the 'Heaven Smile'. Not too strange sounding? Well, it isn't until you learn that the 'Killer 7' is actually an old man that can cause his multiple personalities to manifest in...

Killer 7

Strengths: Enjoyable action, unique characters and story

Weakness: No real level exploration, bizzare plot can be hard to follow

Killer 7 is a great choice for anyone looking for a game that really deviates from the norm, both in gameplay style and overall feel. The game, which puts you in control of a group of assassins, has a hyper-stylized, mind-trip feel. The action feels like a first-person shooter, except that movement is restricted to preset paths. While seeming like a bad idea, it actually works well in giving the...

Capcom's Unique Title.

Strengths: Story

Weakness: Story

I know what you're thinking, the story is a double-edged sword? Yup, while it's the most unique video game story I've encountered in a while, you either fall into two camps; one that finds it brilliant, and the other that finds it too confusing. Depending on which you fall, it'll basically decide whether you like the game or not. I personally found it to be interesting.

Excellent, Progressive Game

Strengths: Storyline, graphics, overall difference from anything and everything else

Weakness: Load times, but it's worth it

I could tell you the graphics are great, but you can see that for yourself. Cel-shading lets you go places stylistically that no amount of "realism" can, and that's where this game shines. It's a complex statement, it's a work of art. You play it because you're curious; while Halo is certainly great, this isn't meant to be a new Halo. It's dark, it's disturbing, it's unlike anything else. Buy it...

Killer 7

Upon first glance, you could hardly be blamed for thinking that Killer 7 is another Resident Evil inspired survival horror game. It sure does look like one, after all, despite the game's funky visuals. You're even solving simple puzzles and shooting zombie-like creatures. And it's made by Capcom -- the masters of survival horror. But if you go into Killer 7 expecting the next Resident Evil 4, you...

Killer 7

There's no doubt that people are going to be divided on Capcom's unpredictable, stylized and sometimes downright psychotic new adventure game, Killer 7. The title, from director Suda 51 , is a bizarre journey into a surreal world where nothing is exactly as it seems and profanity, sex and bloodshed are commonplace. This is a particularly difficult game to review because its Achilles heel is its...
