Strengths: The online play and graphics are great.
Weakness: The added features of using the stylus as a 'boost' for the familiar speed-boost in Mario Kart & Diddy Kong Racing takes some getting used to.
Diddy Kong Racing is fun and challenging. The ability to zoom around in cars, planes, and watercraft is reason enough to give this game a try on the Nintendo DS. There are some bad touch challenges in the boss levels, but since you don't have to play through them to progress through the Adventure Mode they don't kill the fun all that much. The online play and graphics are great. If you liked the...
Strengths: "adventure" mode, ability to upgrade equipment or unlock things with coins, WiFi
Weakness: The Speed Boost that requires you use the stylus is impossible to use :P
I never played the N64 Diddy Kong Racing, so I am comparing this to nothing... and I think it's a really good, solid title. There is an Adventure mode, along with the options to just race flat out. I have been playing the Adventure mode, and it is quite engaging. I have to say I prefer the tracks in Mario Kart, but I do love the "game" aspect of this title. There are different levels and stages...
I thougt Diddy Kong racing was really easy but i really enjoyed the game. Like chossing different racing tracks and chossing different people to race with. But I really enjoyed being Donkey Kong.
Strengths: You can play Diddy Kong Racing online using the nintendo WiFi connection!!!
Weakness: None
A good return of a classic nintendo game. Don't expect this to be as good as Mario Kart though. It is similar to Mario Kart, but not quite as good. The controls of the game is similar to the original N64 game. A big plus for this game is the ability ot be able to play it online using the nintendo WiFi connection. If you loved the original, you would definitely enjoy this game on the DS.
Strengths: Lots of things to do
Weakness: the unnecessary use of touch screen and stylus
Back in the N64 days DKR was one of the better racing game, and this time it is on DS. While the Rare characters are gone, Diddy Kong is back with some new characters. The game play is still good with the different vehicles and adventure mode. My main problem is the unnecessary use of touch screen and stylus. The speed boost with the touch screen seems out or place and make the game less fun.
Strengths: Decent entry into a poorly covered genre
Weakness: Lacking in comparison to Mario Kart DS
Diddy Kong Racing is a decent choice if you plan to make use of the multitude of online modes. The online aspect is really the only area that this game is more robust than its competitor Mario Kart DS. In terms of speed, level design, and all around fun, MK DS is still the champ.
Strengths: Classic Donkey Kong Characters, the vehicles are fun to use, graphics are very good and vibrant for DS. WiFi play is fun and fast as well.
Weakness: It is a port of an N64 game. Removed some collection elements from the original. DS WiFi makes it hard to play with friends due to codes.
Diddy Kong Racing is much similar to Mario Kart, but not quite as good. You can drive karts, hoverboats, and airplanes, which varies up the gameplay. There is an adventure mode where you unlock new areas and characters which keeps the game interesting. Multplayer is the best part, with WiFi play offering competition anytime. The track designs don't look quite as good as Mario Kart, but are very...
Strengths: A competant DS racer
Weakness: Lacks the fun of Mario Kart
Diddy Kong Racing is a slightly modified port of the Nintendo 64 Diddy Kong Racing game. Certainly, if you liked that game you will like the DS version. The major addition to the game is online racing. Otherwise, however, the game is simply an average racing game. You start off by choosing a character and then get dropped onto an island where you are free to explore and find races and hidden...
Strengths: Lots of vehicles and track to play with
Weakness: track renderings and background contrast
It’s too bad that I’ve already played Mario Kart DS prior to DKR. DKR just seems to be a lesser version of MarioKart plus it has some graphical presentation issues. My main problem is that there way the tracks and surrounding backgrounds are drawn/rendered, it’s hard to figure out which way you need to head. In the hovercraft/lava(?) track, it’s really difficult to get any sort of depth...

Diddy Kong Racing DS
Strengths: The only notable additions are the track editor and Wi-Fi Connection support. It's fun to race online.
Weakness: Using the stylus as a boost for the familiar speed-boost in Mario Kart & Diddy Kong Racing takes some getting used to.
Diddy Kong Racing combines racing with adventure. Just like a typical adventure game (Mario 64, Banjo Kazooie etc) the goal is to visit each world, collect coins, keys, amulets and medallions to advance. Instead of running from place to place, you drive in karts, planes or hovercrafts. Finishing first in every race lets you go against a boss. After placing first (you have to place first) and...
