Answering an invitation, Mario, Luigi and Wario set out for a royal party with Princess Peach. When they arrive at the castle, though, they find it strangely empty. Meanwhile, Yoshi awakes from a rooftop nap to find the castle eerily silent, with Mario, Luigi and Wario nowhere to be seen. Yoshi discovers that Bowser has pilfered the castle's Power Stars and imprisoned the Toads in the castle's immense collection of paintings. It's up to the dynamic dino to figure out what happened to Mario, Luigi and Wario and save the day. Each of the four main characters has multiple jumping moves that cover great distances. Yoshi can eat enemies and turn them into eggs that he can throw; Mario can punch, kick and wall-jump to great heights; super-strong Wario can break certain blocks; and Luigi can jump incredibly high. Power Flowers give each character even cooler powers, such as invisibility, fire breath or the power to float through the air. minimize

Strengths:

Graphics, Minigames, Length

Sound, It's a port of a 9 year old game

Posted Jun 29, 2005 - This game is a great remake of a classic Nintendo 64 platformer. It stays true to the original while adding 3 new playable characters, and 36 touch screen minigames. It also adds 30 stars to collect. It's a great game every Nintendo DS owner should own.

Strengths:

Excellent remix of an already great game.

Weaknesses:

Some camera issues, nothing major.

Posted Jul 1, 2005 - Super Mario 64 DS is a great remix and an awesome game to show off the DS with. Control with the stylus is relatively simple, and the graphics are on par with the N64 version. The minigames included are very creative, and the ability to use Yoshi, Luigi, and Wario in addition to Mario makes the game worth playing through again. Definately worth playing through for newcomers and veterans alike, highly recommended!
