Strengths:
The Network Adapter is your key to FREE online gameplay if you have an Internet provider. Also a FREE online game (Twisted Metal: Black Online) will be sent to you from Sony with your purchase.
Weaknesses:
Some people may need to purchase extra PC networking accessories to get online with the PS2.
Posted Aug 8, 2002 - First of all, you do not need to pay a fee for a monthly subscription of any sort to gain access to Sony's online community. Though some people may need to purchase some PC networking devices and have a ready connection to the Internet, it's all free after you have the Network Adapter. Sony will even send you a FREE online game (Twisted Metal: Black Online) to play after filling out a registration card. Though Microsoft has their stuff together with their superior online community, X-Box Live!, you will have to pay $10 each month to stay subscribed to X-Box Live!, see more

Weaknesses:
-lag for 56k modems and lower no other problems

Great games and easy to connect.I would reccomend buying one because it is inexpensive and fun to use.I have a cable modem and it never lags for me.If you have a cable connection you should get an Adaptor, its a great gift.
