A few steps back from the next-gen console...

Strengths: Decent party game, mostly solid build quality, Guitar Hero controllers work with it, hardware compatible with PS3, lots of fun with a group, developed by the creators of Guitar Hero

Weakness: Expensive for what you get, no online support, no downloadable content, minimal customization, fewer play modes than PS3 port

Electronic Arts Rock Band Special Edition

Strengths: Great collaboration, good song collection

Weakness: A little expensive for what you get IMO

This is a pretty good next step to the Guitar Hero series. The guitar controllers that I have from GH work with Rock Band, which is a plus. The graphics are a slight step up from GH. The songs on this game are very good. The best part is being able to play the game with a group of people, and the variety of things you can do, from bass, lead, drums and vocals.
