Posted May 22, 2005 - Snake Eater is easily the best MGS game yet. Cool character design, unique boss battles and a comprehensible story (i'm looking at you MGS2!!!) lead to a very enjoyable stealth action game. It is primarily a stealth game, so if you're not a fan of other MGS or splinter cell type games than this one isn't going to change your mind. I ended up getting spotted and having to blast my way out of most scenarios, but it's clear that better sneaking would have made things a bit easier. Posted Sep 4, 2005 - After the largely disappointing Metal Gear Solid 2, which had a confusing storyline and raised more questions than it answered, Hideo Kojima and his team at Konami Japan hit the nail on the head with Metal Gear Solid 3. The game is set in the 1960's and explains much of the backstory to the original games in the series. The majority of the game takes place in an outdoors, jungle environment, leaving the player to make use of different styles of camoflauge, gadgetry, and medicine to survive.
