Strengths: Great addition to the MK family
Weakness: none
It is the latest MK game. It has pretty much the same characters from the previous version but has some new additions like puzzles and stuff. Overall it is a great game to play if you are a MK fanatic.
Strengths: More in depth konquest mode. Puzzle kombat, chess kombat, and online gameplay are excellent additions.
Weakness: Not really a weakness, but I always hope for more characters.
There are so many excellent additions to Mortal Kombat: Deception. First and formost is the ability to play online to test your skills against someone other than the CPU. The more thought out Konquest mode is exceptional, making this version not only a bloody fighting game but also a real time strategy. The new arenas with death traps make for extremely interesting finishing moves. Also the...
Strengths: KOMBAT!!!
Weakness: Puzzles, but they're extra so who cares.
In many ways, MK Deception feels like an expansion pack to MKDA. It's got similar (but improved) gameplay, graphics, and even storyline and the krypt. Bottom line, if you liked MKDA, you'll like this one even more; if you didn't like the previous game, I doubt you'll find what you're looking for here, but I still recommend you give a try. This (and the whole of MK series) is the best fighting...
Strengths: Online play, Puzzle Kombat, Chess Kombat, Konquest
Weakness: none
There are so many things to do in this game. There are mini games like Puzzle Kombat, Chess Kombat, and a long Konquest mode. The online play is awesome. If you like Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, you will definitely like this game. The game is more balanced and contains more contents.
Strengths: Signature gory "Finish Him!" sequences never fail to amuse, improved and more interactive enviroments for the fights, weird "puzzle mode" side games add depth (if you go for that sort of thing).
Weakness: Learning curve is always significant in the MK series, especially for new players.
If you played and liked any of the previous MK installments, I don't think you'd be disappointed with Deception. Now there are several nasty environmental hazards in the fighting arenas that enable you to instantly dispatch a careless opponent---in typically grisly MK fashion. The graphics have incrementally improved, and the fight animations are as good as ever. I didn't bother to explore the...
Strengths: Depth of Konquest mode, puzzle fighter, solid, straight forward controls, tons of unlockable goodies.
Weakness: Graphics are good but a bit behind other fighter series like Tekken and Virtua.
Mortal Kombat: Deception is an exceptional fighter but what's more is that it has a very good story mode as well. The Konquest mode takes you through the development of a young fighter as he progresses through multiple worlds of the Mortal Kombat universe. This provides great backstory and forces you to play as all the characters, training you with their moves and dropping you into combat as that...
Strengths: Mortal Kombat has always set itself apart from other fighting games. DECEPTION is no exception.
Weakness: None. It was so good, I had to rhyme.
Mortal Kombat Deception keeps it fresh with plenty of variety. I first saw this game at E3 when it was being released and wanted to own it ever since. I finally got the chance and I'm not disappointed. The game is fun, especially if you're a long time Mortal Kombat fan. Good fun!

You probably expect me to open this review with a statement about how the series made its grand return in 2002. You’re half-right. While I’m not going to actually come out and say it, I did manage to sneak the comment in there (hehe). Mortal Kombat: Deception is exactly what it looks like. It’s the sequel to Deadly Alliance and is short on innovation but big on new features and characters....

Mortal Kombat: Deception is the latest of the new generation of MK

After a downward spiral that took the Mortal Kombat series to places it never wanted to go, Midway's number one franchise finally made a comeback in 2002 with the release of Deadly Alliance; a completely revamped and re-envisioned interpretation of John Tobias and Ed Boon's arcade fighting vision. Finally moving beyond the presentational aspects that had both endeared and reviled it in the eyes...
