Mortal Kombat beats the point spread on this one. . .

Strengths:

Solid fighting game, loads of MK lore and content, co-op play support, Mortal Kombat 2 arcade game included

Weaknesses:

Lots of backtracking, short overall length, inconsistent difficulty level

Posted Jun 25, 2007 - Taking up shortly after the finish of the first Mortal Kombat, Shaolin Monks bridges the gap between the first and second game by placing you in the role of Liu Kang or Kung Lao as you try to escape a rapidly deteriorating island fortress. Series fans will enjoy all of the series characters and environments the developer has worked into this game as well as a ton of unlockable content. Best MK Ever!

Strengths:

Incredibly fun to play alone or with a friend. Nice graphics. Excellent controls. Great intro movie.

Weaknesses:

No Online Co-op. Versus fighting is against 2 player only. Last boss can be annoying.

Posted Jul 16, 2007 - Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks is an action/adventure game set in the Mortal Kombat universe. The game is a lot like God of War with exploration and puzzle solving with tons of ultraviolent combat in between. You can play alone but the real draw of this game is the co-op play. Two players can go through the entire story together. The major drawback is that there is no online co-op so you will need a second controller. The graphics are well done and the gameplay is superb. If you like games like Prince of Persia and God of War you will surely love Shaolin Monks.
