Playing tennis - The Hot Shots way
Strengths: Nice characters & settings
Weakness: Not much depth in game
After playing some of the other tennis games where you also have some intense online play available, this game may not provide you as much excitement. Still, this is one of the better tennis games out there if you give it enough time. Initially you may find timing the shots a little difficult since its not just one button press shot kind of game. Hot Shots "Tennis"
Strengths: Easy to play
Weakness: Not as impressive as the golf games
I am a big fan of Hot Shots Golf series and I like Mario Tennis. The control is really easy. Probably due to the nature of this sport, there are not too many different scenes as in the golf game. I like the colorful graphics and cute characters, but somehow they seem not as impressive as that in the golf game. $29 is OK but I consider this is a $19 game.

Hot Shots Tennis for PlayStation 2
Strengths: Hot Shots Tennis is an accessible yet challenging game with gorgeous graphics and it only cost $30.
Weakness: The unlockables are limited.
I really like Hot Shots Tennis. The simple gameplay is the only reason that you will keep playing it. You can't customize your character's appearance or stats. There are courts, players and umpires to unlock, but that sounds more impressive than it is. Your first game isn't going to be that much different from your last.
