Strengths: Good old Dragon Quest fun
Weakness: Graphics aren't great.
The game is excellent. The graphics are really nice. The characters are cel shaded. I don't like the design of the human characters. Many of them are basically copies of the artist's other characters. Every other character is designed well. Amazingly, the voice acting doesn't suck and the dialogue isn't terrible like in FFX. The combat is similar to the previous DQ games. The combat is menu...
Strengths: Gameplay
Weakness: Music weak at times
Well first let me say, "Wow!". After 3+ hours into the game this is shaping up to be one of the most thrilling games I have played in a while. Where does one begin when reviewing a game of this magnitude? Let's start of with the controls! Also let me warn you that I am in no way a pro with writing reviews and I am just a hardcore RPG player and wanth to share my thoughts on the game with...
Strengths: Humor, fantasy, action, story, graphics.... This list could go on for days! Definitely a must.
Weakness: The only weakness I could find in this (after sleepless nights and a sore bottom) is the fact that it ends.
This is the one game that succeeded in peeling me from the great WOW. Upon purchasing this masterpiece I was immediately immersed in a long and incredibly welcoming story of a young hero. There are many people to meet and things to see throughout the adventure and a charming story to keep you on your bottom. With no annoying battle system and some of the most enjoyable graphics of any game I have...

The originator of the console RPG sticks to its roots while rapidly evolving into a game that will come to define the PlayStation 2 experience.

I've always recognized that Level-5 knew how to make good RPGs , but after playing through the team's latest project, Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King, I'm now totally convinced of it. Just like Camelot Software and tri-Ace before it, Level-5 truly understands the role-playing genre as few other companies do. Through its grasp of always-important concepts like pacing, presentation,...

It is getting close to winter time and that is when I get the itch, and with good reason. Around this time of the year Square Enix releases an epic RPG for me to sink my teeth into. While I am sorely disappointed that this year the game is not Final Fantasy XII, I am pleased that I get to try a game series that is so popular in Japan, that it eclipses the popularity of the Final Fantasy series....

Best RPG of 2005 - Dragon Quest Slimes are so cool!
Strengths: Good Story, Fun
Weakness: the graphics are not the best available, but the character designs are so beautiful that it makes up for it.
Dragon Quest Slimes are so cool! I'm about 40 hours in this game. It is definately one of the best RPG's released this year. The gameplay is turn based and there are random battles. However, it is not annoying to the point of other games like FF or Dark Cloud. I find it really fun actually. The story and the character design is one of the best points of the game. I highly recommend this game to...
