Phenomenal graphics and great gameplay

Posted Mar 26, 2007 - This is one of the best fighting games I have ever played. The graphics are superb and the gameplay is very deep. The game includes the standard arcade and versus modes as well as dojo (practice) modes and quest modes. I believe the quest mode would have to be my favorite as you travel to other "arcades" to play against simulated "real-life" opponents. The AI for these characters is based off of real arcade players. Sadly, the game lacks online play which is it's only drawback.

Makes some good use of PS3's graphics abilities; unbelievable amount of moves and combos available for each player.
Doesn't seem to use the *full* potential of the PS3's graphics; some long load times; some control mapping could be improved.
Posted Mar 9, 2007 - Okay, I was hoping this game would be one of the VERY few on the PS3 (as of this writing in March 2007) to live up to expectations, and I can say without hesitation that it is does accomplish that. But it's not perfect. Styles... The good: the characters have move lists that are extremelt extensive. The bad: it's almost daunting to the casual player -- there's a learning curve here that exceeds any other fighting game I've played.
