Xbox Live 12-month subscription card
Strengths:
better price than downloading the renewal from xbox online
Weaknesses:
have to wait for the card to come in the mail rather than the immediate download online
Posted Apr 18, 2007 - I purchase this card yearly for my teenagers to continue their xbox live game play. The price of the card is cheaper than the immediate download from xbox live online. This works out better for me as long as I can plan in advance when their subscription will run out and plan ahead to purchase the card from an online vendor.

Xbox Live 12+1 Subscription Card
Strengths:
At price I paid, ~$3 a month for access to game demos, system updates, movies/tv shows, and a worldwide network of people to play games with. Cheaper to buy this card then renew over Xbox Live.
Weaknesses:
The only weakness is that you have to pay to use Xbox Live, but $3/mo is not bad (skip lunch or coffee one day).
Posted Oct 20, 2007 - If you've got an Xbox (or Xbox 360), then you'll want Xbox Live. It gives you great access to movies, tv shows, games, and most importantly (for those multiplayer games) - other gamers. If you see a good deal for this card - jump on it! You can enter the code on the back of the card anytime (doesn't have to be at the end of your existing subscription) and it will extend your current subscription.
