Strengths: Engrossing story, excellent graphics
Weakness: Interior layout repetition (see below)
Mass Effect puts you in the middle of the most significant series of events in the galaxy in thousands of years. The choices you make, the actions you take, affect the fate of humanity - no, all life in the galaxy. At least, that's how the advertisements for the game go. And from playing the game, I'd have to agree with that assessment. It truly does feel like every major decision you make has a...
Strengths: Great story, good graphics afetr editing the settings, great combat system after you learn the game.
Weakness: Inventory management, And a long learning curve that can throw you off.
Let me add about my title "Not for Everybody" is because not everybody plays RPG's and this one has a longer learning curve compared to Bioware's past game Star Wars: Knights of the old Republic. This isn’t a bad game but let me start on the Negative factors. 1. The learning curve was longer then other games, I was ready to sell the game but I just couldn’t believe the game was bad, I stuck...
Strengths: Graphics, Story line, Action, overall game play
Weakness: Elevator
This was the best game I have played in a very long time no question about it. The graphics were amazing and the story line was even better. The way the game ends just keeps you wanting more, and I love how they made it so you can chose what you want to say in your conversations, which can impact the rest of the game, and impact the following game whenever it comes out. Even after i beat the...
Strengths: Story
Weakness: Linear gameplay, short
I'll start off by saying Mass Effect was one of my most anticipated games ever. I love what BioWare does, and hoped that Mass Effect would be just as good. I was slightly disappointed, but it is still a great game. The story is very good, and the cutscenes are flat out amazing. The problems are that the game has a linear story design and it is very short, it only took me 13 hours to beat. But it...
Strengths: 3rd person action RPG with a great story
Weakness: More action than RPG
Mass Effect is a great third-person shooter/RPG hybrid from Bioware, the makers of the classic Star Wars RPG Knight of the Old Republic. While I was somewhat skeptical of the more real-time combat aspect vs the previous game I actually ended up enjoying it quite a bit even though I wouldn't call this an RPG in the strictest sense. You play as Commander Shepard (who you can customize as either...
Strengths: (1) Great graphics and life-like animation, very beautiful (2) Great story, you really feel like you are "in" the Mass Effect universe (3) Very creative character, alien, vehicle and planet designs
Weakness: (1) The complexity of the menus, tech and biotic powers and weapon selection/upgrades demands a lot of time to get a handle on (2) The Mako rover/tank drives very poorly and erratic.
First off, Mass Effect is probably the game that has delivered the most epic and immersing experience to date. I credit its success to the hyper-realistic graphics and animation and amazing depth of the conversations with other characters. There are also many well-thought out sub-plot lines (though, some minor side quests do seem to be unfinished experiences). At first, I found the combat to be...
Strengths: Free choice, Requires strategy, Great graphics, Takes a long time to beat.
Weakness: None
All the positive reviews are correct about this game. It's full of so many different cool aspects- the graphics, the levels, the game play, the strategy required, and the story line that the game just keeps getting better and better the longer you play it. If you have any doubts about getting the game put them aside and try it you shouldn't be sorry you did.
Strengths: excellent graphics, pretty good story, well-designed conversation system
Weakness: combat is a little tedious
Before I begin, let me just say that if you loved Knights of the Old Republic and Jade Empire, just go out and pick up a copy of Mass Effect now because you'll love it. Any RPG or action RPG fan should have a blast playing through this game. That's not to say its perfect, but it is a really great game and easily the best RPG out this year. Mass Effect tells a good, but not altogether great or...
Strengths: Combat, graphics, voice acting, story
Weakness: Elevators. Apparently, in the future, not only are elevators nearly the only way to get around, they are also much slower than in the present.
Did you like KOTOR? Yes? Go buy this. No? Go buy this. For those that love a great story, with fun combat, and a cinimatic style and Hollywood level of voice acting, there is no better game. Seriously, instead of saying "Hey, look at that thing, I wonder if I can shoot it?", you say "Hey, look at that thing, I wonder if I can have a conversation with it". And then, if you want, you can likely end...
Mass Effect is a new RPG from BioWare who developed the critically acclaimed Star Wars: Knights of Old Republic games, and Jade Empire. The game takes place in a sci-fi world where space exploration is common and robots, aliens and humans comingle. The action is split into three main modes: conversations with other characters, exploration around the galaxy, and combat. BioWare focuses a lot of...

The first in a trilogy, Mass Effect delivers the next-generation experience I was expecting. The storyline had me hooked until the very end where it left me wanting more. I can honestly say that the universe Bioware created is the best I have encountered since George Lucas created Star Wars. Never have I been compelled to find out everything there is to a storyline as I did with Mass Effect.

Sci-fi opera falls short of its potential
Strengths: Complex dialogue system makes talking to NPCs fun, Beautiful graphics, Ambitious scale
Weakness: Save system, inventory system, load times, dropped textures & framerate issues
Mass Effect was probably one of the most anticipated games for the 360 for the fall of 2007. It was touted to be a wonderfully immersive sci-fi rpg of epic scale with jaw dropping graphics and a rewarding combat system. I'd have to say it succeeded in being a fun adventure, but fell short of its potential. The sheer scale of the game was what I was most excited about, only to find most of it...
