Description
For Niko Bellic, fresh off the boat from Europe, it is the hope he can escape his past. For his cousin, Roman, it is the vision that together they can find fortune in Liberty City, gateway to the land of opportunity. As they slip into debt and are dragged into a criminal underworld by a series of shysters, thieves and sociopaths, they discover that the reality is very different from the dream in a city that worships money and status, and is heaven for those who have them and a living nightmare for those who don't.

Strengths: Open world, Brilliant Voice Overs, Compelling Environments
Weakness: None
I am not really a big fan of GTA series but GTA IV is one game that is more than your money's worth(even when you paid full retail price). The game opens in a very interesting fashion. Both the music & visuals make you feel you are watching something big. And Big - It is. There are big areas to roam around, some big missions, big mouthed characters & a big overall story. If you want to finish the...
Strengths: Storyline, Graphics, Variety of Animations
Weakness: Lots of Language, Minimal Bugs
This is by far the best GTA game in the series, if not the best game period. Many of the gaming website have given this game the maximum rating and I can definitely see why. The open world that you can explore in the GTA series is great. Now, add the graphics and you get one awesome game. The storyline is one of the best in the series. Many of the new animations and features add an extra special...
Strengths: More to do Multiplayer Great story
Weakness: Shooting mechanics
Best GTA game so far? Almost certainly. This one adds great graphics, with the gameplay that you know and love. Story is key, and you will be playing this one for a while, with new multiplayer options available. Missions in this game have vastly inproved over earlier editions. Some can be very simple (take this item to a destination), or they can be very complex. Driving around is still extremely...
Strengths: The complete package!
Weakness: Not enough hours in the day to play...
I sold all my Xbox 360 games to buy Grand Theft Auto IV. Seriously. And it wasn't because I needed the money (though games are expensive these days). It was simply because I needed the time. From its engaging story to its robust multiplayer experience, GTA IV will consume you with it limitless depth and endless gameplay possibilities. Everything is backed by solid controls and a spectacular...
Strengths: graphical details; especially the city, missions, gps, map, cell phone,
Weakness: lack of checkpoints within missions, clunky combat controls, story goes south midway through, can not choose missions on a replay
This was my first GTA and being from the NYC area I was drawn to "Liberty City". The first several missions help orient you to the controls but then the difficulty goes up several notches for a newbie. There are no checkpoints so you either need to get pretty proficient at combat including good cover techniques or get proficient at whipping out your cell phone to dial up a cheat. Cheats won't...
Strengths: Amazing detail, engrossing storyline, multi-player modes a plenty.
Weakness: Combat and aiming issues, some pop ins, load screens.
I have played the previous GTA games and never really got into them too much. This one might just change that. The story line is much better than the previous games and sucks you in like a full length movie. The city of New York could not depicted any better than what this game offers. Amazing attention to detail line the streets. Bystanders, hot dog vendors, and building facades make the streets...
Strengths: Great story, a huge world to explore, variety in missions. Online MP will extend the life of this title.
Weakness: Camera angles and camera lag during turns when driving.
After all the long delays, Grand Theft Auto 4 has finally arrived on the current generation consoles and it does not disappoint. The story of Nico Bellic is an interesting one and the world of Liberty City is just alive this time around. There are so many things to do, from watching TV shows, to going to bars to drink or play darts, to finding that special someone on the Internet or in person....
Strengths: Great playing area you know and love, an amazing blend of realism that doesnt kill the fun factor.
Weakness: Poor Shooting quality, online has a weak connection compared to other games.
The GTA series made a big jump with GTA IV. It feels very differnt but you still know it's GTA, if you hated past games then you can give this one a shot. The realism is made a good blend in this game and didnt harm the fun factor. A great example of this can be in the Wanted System that is just great and realistic compared to any other game, you then have a more tactical feel to the shooting and...
Strengths: gameplay, graphics, new shooting and combat controls, extremely vast and deep world to explore, sound, on-line multiplayer
Weakness: same car models frequently appear in vicinity of each other
GTA III was released in 2001 and it revolutionized the gaming experience with its open-world gameplay. Since then, Rockstar has released two sequels that refined the gameplay and expanded the world; while numerous developers have tried to duplicate the GTA experience and sadly failed. GTA IV is here to evolved the open-world gameplay to a whole another level. The world of GTA IV is richly as...
The next-generation sequel to the controversial number one selling game. Grand Theft Auto 4 has you playing as Russian immigrant, Niko, trying to escape his shady past in modern-day New York. In a break from the trend of increasingly larger worlds to explore, Rock Star opted for a more densely packed smaller game world than in San Andreas. Major improvements over the previous games come in the...

For a long time, gamers and critics alike have debated the age-old question: Are video games art? In 2007, many of those discussions were put to rest with the release of epic games like Bioshock and Mass Effect. But the arrival of the once delayed, next-gen Grand Theft Auto game should end the debate. If you’ve seen my score already, then you know what I’m going to say, but here it goes...

A sequel that doesn't disappoint
Strengths: Depth and breadth of missions, interesting characters, great voice acting, never gets dull
Weakness: Nothing here that pushes the envelope for the series. Essentially no celebrity voice actors this time out.
Game needs no introduction to anyone who has played the series, and it will not disappoint its fan base as such. Whether you can warm up to an eastern European thug remains to be seen, but the missions are varied and uniformly fun/interesting. Not for youngsters.
