Strengths: graphics, gameplay, presentation
Weakness: 2 year old version, some animations look stiff
I originally bought this game with my launch 360. I traded it in over a year ago, but just recently purchased another copy. I am not a basketball fan, but this was the best sports title for the launch of the system. 2 years later, it is $10 at Circuit City and many other retailers. If you don't have a good sports game, pick this one up. It is well worth it. Even though it is 2 years old, they...
Strengths: Everything
Weakness: Nothing
NBA 2K6 is a basketball game that came out a little after the other versions. It’s your typical basketball game; it has seasons and off season, mini games, licensed teams and perfects them. In the seasons you choose a team and you play through you can have your own developing team which your team will get better and better. It gets boring after a few months, that saying maybe about 20 hours,...
Strengths: Fun factor, modes, gameplay
Weakness: Older title, next gen is starting to pass it by...
So, in 2007 I picked up NBA 2K6. Yeah, a little late--- especially since NBA 2K8 will hit the market when basketball season starts again in the fall (though, it's not over yet this year)... but, in a marketplace filled with games at $59.99--- how can you go wrong with a fun filed game at $20? NBA 2K6 takes all the elements of the already successful series and continues to showcase them. The...
Strengths: beautiful graphics
Weakness: no new modes
To be honest sports video games don't really appeal to me. I did pick this game up to see if I was missing out on anything. I can say that the graphics are amazing. The players look almost lifelike. For a launch title it does showcase the graphical ability of next gen systems. As for the gameplay itself, I wish they added more modes over the ps2/xbox versions. This seemed nothing more than a...
Strengths: Gameplay, graphics, FUN!
Weakness: Should have 3-Point competition and dunk contest.
I was always a EA fan especially when it came to NBA games. I bought NBA LIVE for the 360 and traded it in for a loss the next day. EA just rushed the game for launch it looks like. It looks like 2k may have just won me over.
Strengths: Fixes most of the bugs of its PS2/Xbox cousins; sweat modeling; Detroit and Miami recreated to the "T"; sliders work well out of the box; Live leagues superbly done
Weakness: Only 2/30 teams recreated authetically; some minor bugs still exist; stadium and crowds bad; 1st gen. next gen. title; sweat modeling gimmick; AI inconsistent
2K games have carved out a niche among the billion dollar sports video gaming industry by focusing on realistic gameplay instead of an arcade emphasis like NBA Live. This annual update to the NBA series builds upon that legacy. The strengths of the game are apparent to users who have Xbox/Ps2 versions of the game. Graphically, it takes up a notch over those versions and cleans up many bugs that...
Strengths: Graphics, Sound, Options
Weakness: Gameplay
Good game overall. There are a lot of options to play which includes seasons, streetball, exibitions, etc... Graphics are great especially when on replay up close. Sweat is shown along with the movement of their jerseys. Gameplay is a little off when players miss wide open layups/put backs. Happens too much for me.
Strengths: It's beautiful, silky smooth gameplay, V.I.P. Mode, 24/7 mode, and the franchise is rock solid.
Weakness: ESPN Presentation is gone, weaker than normal commentary, coaches and crowd visuals are not as good as the players, and not much is different than the current gen versions.
NBA 2K6 has arrived and in my opinion, this is one of the most visually impressive games that I have ever seen. The players sweat as the game wears on to the point you can see it through their clothing. The outstanding VIP feature from NFL 2K5 is here, which lets you dowload the playing style of any player online and practice against them offline, which is a really cool feature. The franchise is...

The jump to the next generation has definitely been an interesting one, especially for sports titles. We’ve already witnessed some fierce competition between basketball games on the Xbox and PS2, so it should be no secret that the battle continues with the Xbox 360. The decision this time around may be a little easier when it comes to choosing your favorite hoopster on the 360, because as long...

Best NBA basketball game on the 360!
Strengths: +Player graphics +Good Commentary +Highlights/Replays +Has all features of current gen. games
Weakness: -crowds and coaches not graphically improved -all the stadiums look the same -no new features added
NBA 2K6 is currently the best basketball game on the 360. All the features that are available on the PS2/X-box games are available here. The graphics have been fine tuned and look great on the 360. You can even see the players sweat as the game progresses. Unfortunately the crowds, and coaches did not receive the same graphic polish as the NBA players. As a result the crowds, and coaches look out...
